They produced an 'Information Update' memo, dated 17th May 2007, which clearly states " no longer than 4 years" (or 40k miles) between oil/filter changes.

VW Group / UK will have to be covering that extra servicing charge then to those that own cars, pay the servicing and bought them knowing DSG & Haldex Servicing intervals were at 40,000 miles.
