The Goat Trail to Big Bluff is 5.9 miles roundtrip and has an elevation change of 1,076 feet.As you can see on the map above, as well as on the AllTrails page, the hike to Big Bluff is all downhill, which means that you’ll be going all uphill on the way back. The Te Araroa Trust, which has been working on a 3000km-long Cape At the junction with the Bynum Bluff Trail, assuming I was still on schedule, I'd follow the side path downhill once again to the Linville River beneath the towering cliffs of Bynum Bluff itself. From there I'd make the demanding climb out from the gorge via the Bynum Bluff Trail, climbing 800'+, back to the road which I'd use to complete the loop back to the Cabin Trail.
